Two performances using Tibetan bowls, bells, wooden mallets, a marble and a couple sea shells on the surface of my table. Recorded on a Mixpre 6 using a Metal Marshmallow contact mic and a H2a hydrophone. Field recordings were added after to create depth and space.
I wanted to explore playing at home with quiet objects and recording them as close as possible. I decided to go with two different vibrational microphones which puts the listening experience right inside your head. The feeling of this reminded me of when I was younger, putting my ear to my desk at school and rolling my pencil around in the metal storage part below. Adding the field recordings after lended itself to the experience of the other ear listening to the open air of the room.
